Editorial policy

How we write about mental health.

Who writes our articles, where the facts come from, how we date and correct them, and an honest note on clinical review.

Who writes

Who writes our articles

Our articles are researched and written by the Safe Healing editorial team, with help from AI tools. Each article names its author as “The Safe Healing editorial team”.

We write for adults in Pakistan who want clear, practical information. We use plain words, short sentences and a calm tone. We avoid fear, blame and labels that stigmatise.

Sources

How we choose and cite sources

Every statistic links to its primary source, and we check that source at the time of writing. We prefer the World Health Organization, national health bodies such as the NHS, NICE and NIMH, peer-reviewed research, and Pakistani government sources. We do not rely on commercial wellness blogs as a source on their own.

When research is limited or mixed, we say so. Sources are listed at the end of each article so you can read them yourself.

Crisis information

Helplines and emergency numbers

Crisis numbers are checked against official sources before we publish them. We only list services we could confirm are running. If a number stops working, please tell us and we will fix it.

Clinical review

Where clinical review stands

Our intended standard is that every health article is reviewed by a licensed mental health professional. An article only says it is clinically reviewed when that review has actually happened.

Today, none of our articles have been clinically reviewed yet. When an article is reviewed, it will show the reviewer’s name, their credential and the date of the review.

Dates

Dates and updates

Every article shows the date it was published. When we change an article in a meaningful way, we show the date it was updated.

Education, not treatment

Information is separate from our services

Our articles and free self-tests are general information. They are not a diagnosis, and they are not a substitute for care from a qualified professional who knows your situation.

Safe Healing also runs a therapy service. Articles may link to it, but the information in an article does not depend on whether you use it. Our online therapy page is where we describe the service itself.

Corrections

Spotted a mistake?

Please tell us. Email contact@safehealing.app with the article link, what you think is wrong and, if you can, a source. You can also use the contact page.

We check every report against the original source. If we got something wrong, we fix it and update the date on the article. We aim to reply within 24 hours.
